Craig Mitchell Bout is an Edinburgh-based ceramic artist whose surreal, cartoon-like figures offer a witty take on the human condition. Drawing inspiration from mid-century illustrators and the absurdities of everyday life, he creates meticulously crafted characters that combine humour, nostalgia and a hint of the unexpected. Through playful visual puns and thought-provoking titles, his work invites viewers to look beyond the surface and discover the darker truths that often lie beneath the comedy. A graduate of the Royal College of Art, Craig also worked as a technician and lecturer at Edinburgh College of Art.

Mae Craig Mitchell Bout yn artist cerameg sy'n byw yng Nghaeredin ac mae ei ffigurau swrealaidd, tebyg i gartŵn, yn cynnig golwg ffraeth ar y cyflwr dynol. Gan dynnu ysbrydoliaeth o ddarlunwyr canol y ganrif ac abswrdiaethau bywyd bob dydd, mae'n creu cymeriadau wedi'u crefftio'n fanwl sy'n cyfuno hiwmor, hiraeth ac awgrym o'r annisgwyl. Trwy eiriau gweledol chwareus a theitlau sy'n ysgogi meddwl, mae ei waith yn gwahodd gwylwyr i edrych y tu hwnt i'r wyneb a darganfod y gwirioneddau tywyllach sy'n aml yn gorwedd o dan y comedi. Yn raddedig o Goleg Brenhinol y Celfyddydau, bu Craig hefyd yn gweithio fel technegydd a darlithydd yng Ngholeg Celf Caeredin.
