“Anvil Pottery was established in 1981. We specialise in hand thrown stoneware and earthenware pottery with an emphasis on use rather than ornament.

Each pot is handmade using traditional methods and techniques from either stoneware or grogged earthenware clays. All the pots are thrown on the potter’s wheel and a full range of domestic ware is produced.

Decorating techniques include sgraffito, incising and slip trailing. The inspiration for design comes from naturally occurring shapes and lines often from Celtic designs.”

“Fe sefydlwyd Crochendy Eingion Anvil Pottery yn 1981. Rydyn ni’n arbenigo mewn crochenwaith caled sydd wedi’i daflu a chrochenwaith llestri pridd gyda phwyslais ar ddefnydd yn hytrach nag addurn.

Fe wneir pob llestr gan ddefnyddio dulliau traddodiadol a dulliau o un ai grochenwaith caled neu glai llestri pridd grog. Fe deflir y potiau i gyd ar droell y crochenydd ac fe gynhyrchir ystod lawn o lestri domestig.

Bydd dulliau addurno’n cynnwys sgraffito, endorri a slip llusg. Daw’r ysbrydoliaeth ar gyfer dyluniad o siapiau sy’n digwydd yn naturiol a llinellau o ddyluniadau Celtaidd yn aml.”
