Sutton Taylor is one of Britain’s most distinguished potters, famed for his ability to create brilliant colours and subtle effects in metallic luster. He is a Yorkshireman; born in Keighley and now living in Cornwall. From 1976 to 1990, he lived and worked at the Old House in the stable block at Lotherton.

Sutton is now represented by the Hart Gallery of London and Nottingham, who have organised this exhibition. It combines pots on loan from the Gallery and private collectors, with those in the Leeds collection. The exhibition is accompanied by a publication with an essay by Moira Vincentelli.

Y mae Sutton Taylor yn un o’r crochenwyr mwyaf nodedig ym Mhrydain ac yn enwog am ei allu i greu darnau lliwgar a llachar mewn gloywedd metaleg. Brodor o Swydd Efrog ydyw; fe’i ganwyd yn Keighley ond erbyn hyn y mae’n byw yng Nghernyw. Rhwng 1976 ac 1990 yr oedd yn byw ac yn gweithio yn yr Hen Dyˆ yn y stablau yn Lotherton.
