Clearly Drawn looks at figurative decoration on cast and blown glass. It shows the skills of well established and respected makers such as Alison Kinnaird, Ronald Pennell and David Reekie, alongside those of relatively new and emerging talent such as Heather Gillespie – who, as a member of the Crafts Council’s Next Move scheme, is at the start of what promises to be a long and successful career. This is the first glass specific exhibition to be staged at the new Ruthin Craft Centre, showing cut, engraved and cast and figurative works from a dynamic group of artists. All exude a rich talent for the creation of stylish and sophisticated, sometimes fun and quirky, works that can be both sculptural and functional in form.

Y mae Gweld yn Glir yn edrych ar addurniadau damhegol ar wydr bwrw a chwyth. Dengys ddawn gwneuthurwyr profiadol a nodedig megis Alison Kinnaird, Ronald Pennell a David Reekie ochr yn ochr â rhai gweddol newydd ac addawol megis Heather Gillespie sydd – fel aelod o gynllun Cam Nesaf y Cyngor Crefftau, ar drothwy gyrfa lwyddiannus. Hon yw’r arddangosfa gyntaf o wydr yng Nghanolfan Grefft Newydd Rhuthun ac y mae’n dangos gweithiau o wydr crisial, llingerfiedig a bwrw gan griw o artistiaid eneiniedig. Mae pob un yn ddawnus ac yn creu darnau chwaethus a soffistigedig, weithiau’n hwyliog a naci ond sydd hefyd yn ddefnyddiol ac yn gerfluniol.
