This exhibition celebrates the ceramic tableware of 10 contemporary makers from Wales who between them have been awarded numerous prizes for their work, who are of several generations and are at different stages of their careers. As Ceri Jones of Wales Arts International stated ‘ceramics is undoubtedly an artform that is inherent in our culture, a creative expression that has become internationally recognised and that continues to shape our national identity as it goes from strength to strength.’ The makers here reflect the breadth of ceramics in Wales, and offer an insight into one of Wales’ most exciting visual artforms.

Y mae’r arddangosfa hon yn dathlu llestri serameg gan 10 o grefftwyr cyfoes o Gymru sydd wedi derbyn nifer o wobrau am eu gwaith. Maent oll o genhedlaeth wahanol ac ar wahanol gamau yn eu gyrfaoedd. Fel y dywed Ceri Jones o Celfyddydau Rhyngwladol Cymru ‘yn ddiddadl y mae serameg yn rhan annatod o’n diwylliant, yn fynegiant creadigol sydd wedi cael ei gydnabod yn rhyngwladol ac yn parhau i siapio ein hunaniaeth genedlaethol fel yr aiff o nerth i nerth’. Y mae’r gwneuthurwyr yn yr arddangosfa hon yn adlewyrchu hyd a lled serameg yng Nghymru ac yn rhoi cipolwg inni o un o gelfyddydau mwyaf cyffrous Cymru.
