In this year of celebrations at Ruthin, we mark the gallery’s long term association with Audrey Walker as she reaches the age of ninety. Momentary glances, encounters, inward smiles, the simple pleasures of life have long fascinated the artist, as has the ability of centuries old images to make powerful connections with today. Observations traces these interests over five decades of work in thread, stitch and cloth that has been gathered together from public and private collections in the UK and USA.

Yn y flwyddyn hon o ddathliadau yn Rhuthun, rydyn ni’n nodi cysylltiad tymor hir yr oriel ag Audrey Walker wrth iddi gyrraedd 90 oed. Mae cipolygon, cyfarfodydd, gwenau mewnol byrhoedlog, pleserau syml bywyd wedi swyno’r artist ers amser, fel y mae gallu delweddau sy’n ganrifoedd oed i wneud cysylltiadau pwerus â heddiw. Mae Arsylwadau yn olrhain y diddordebau hyn dros bum degawd o waith mewn edau, pwythau a brethyn sydd wedi’u casglu ynghyd o gasgliadau cyhoeddus a phreifat yn y DU ac Unol Daleithiau America.
