Studio practice Forest + Found present an exhibition of new work by collaborative artists Max Bainbridge and Abigail Booth.
Working alongside one another, Booth and Bainbridge tread the line between art and craft, crossing seamlessly between contemporary art practices and the traditions of craftsmanship, as they navigate the changing context of the maker. Driven by a deep relationship to the land, they produce sculptural and wall-based works that look at landscape as a site of exchange between material and the maker. Walking The Line is the biggest collection of work they have exhibited to date and is a reflection on form and composition in their work, and the meditative nature of their practice. Booth’s large, abstract textile pieces are rooted in the conceptual language and materiality of painting, while Bainbridge’s sculptural forms hewn from wood, reflect a need to create a tangible, physical presence in space.

Mae practis Stiwdio Forest + Found yn cyflwyno arddangosfa o waith newydd gan yr artistiaid cydweithrediadol Max Bainbridge ac Abigail Booth.
Gan weithio ochr-yn-ochr â’i gilydd, bydd Booth a Bainbridge yn troedio’r llinell rhwng celf a chrefft, yn croesi’n ddi-dor rhwng arferion celfyddyd gyfoes a thraddodiadau crefftwriaeth, wrth iddynt fordwyo cyd-destun cyfnewidiol y gwneuthurwr. Wedi’u gyrru gan berthynas ddofn â’r tir maent yn cynhyrchu gweithiau cerfluniol a rhai sy’n seiliedig ar waliau ac sy’n ystyried tirwedd fel safle o gyfnewidiad rhwng deunydd a’r gwneuthurwr. Cerdded y Lein yw’r casgliad mwyaf o waith iddyn nhw ei arddangos hyd yma ac mae’n adlewyrchiad ar ffurf a chyfansoddiad yn eu gwaith, a natur fyfyriol eu harfer. Mae darnau tecstil haniaethol mawr Booth wedi’u gwreiddio yn iaith a materoliaeth paentio, tra bo ffurfiau cerfluniol Bainbridge sydd wedi’u naddu o bren, yn adlewyrchu’r angen i greu presenoldeb corfforol, cyffyrddadwy mewn gofod.
