Barbara Christie has made a unique and creative contribution to contemporary British jewellery practice. She is a storyteller whose narrative is expressed in metal and stones. Helen Clifford calls her “…a magician… who else can turn a lump of white coral into a little bowl of cream, carved red coral strawberries sitting deliciously on top – small hard ruby beads become soft juicy fruit.” This exhibition shows recent and classic pieces drawn from three decades of inspirational work.

Mae Barbara Christie wedi gwneud cyfraniad unigryw a chreadigol i ymarfer gemwaith cyfoes Prydain. Mae hi yn storïwraig sy’n mynegi ei naratif mewn metel a meini. Geilw Helen Clifford hi “…yn ddewin… pwy arall all droi lwmp o gwrel gwyn i mewn i fowlen fach o hufen, mefus cwrel coch cerfiedig yn ddanteithiol ar y top – gleiniau rhuddem bach caled yn troi’n ffrwythau meddal llawn sudd.” Mae’r arddangosfa hon yn dangos darnau diweddar a chlasurol allan o dri degawd o waith ysbrydoledig.
